The purpose of the position is to provide specialist Domestic and Family Violence support within Mulungu Family Support Service programs providing specialist domestic and family violence advice and assistance to colleagues and community members accessing and contacting the service. The position will also provide support and advice to staff relating to crisis intervention, accessing crisis counselling, Domestic Violence Protection Order applications and where applicable community education and interagency co-operation working towards a concentrated approach to the elimination of domestic and family violence amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This position is responsible for working with Mulungu Family Support Services team of case managers and clients to provide domestic and family violence support and advice within a culturally appropriate context to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families experiencing the impacts of Domestic and Family Violence. Through the use of coaching methodologies, you will assist Family Support Services case managers to recognise and respond appropriately to families experiencing domestic and family violence, undertake risk assessments where domestic and family violence is identified.
