The objective of the Mareeba Connected Beginnings (MCB) Project is to implement a place-based Collective Impact model of systemic change to improve the physical, social, emotional and cognitive readiness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to thrive at school.
To facilitate this, the MCB Project Team engages with the Mareeba community, schools and key stakeholders providing maternal and child health, early childhood and family support services to establish a shared vision for Mareeba Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from conception to age 5, and to support the development of a local integrated service delivery model.
The Collective Impact model acknowledges that the process of developing and maintaining shared vision across a whole community is an evolving one, and ideas will change as community and key stakeholders are encouraged to think about issues and contribute to creating solutions.
The MCB Community Development Officer (Early Childhood) will assist the Project Manager to establish, support and facilitate the operation of a MCB Community Reference Group and liaise with the Mareeba Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and key stakeholders as they engage with one another to establish and maintain shared vision and integrated service delivery for children from conception to age 5.
